Hall Water Treatment Works:

GTM JV (Galliford Try and Imtech Process) managed this project on behalf of Anglian Water, which required the delivery of various schemes to increase the supply of treated water to the Lincoln distribution network by 20 Ml/d from a new water treatment works.

The mandate for this project covered the construction of Hall WTW and associated pump station(s), and the connection into two existing distribution mains with nitrate blending control system. The proposed solution was a new green field stand-alone water treatment works located in the vicinity of the existing Newton WTW and borehole site, producing 20 Ml/d of treated water.

The treatment process of the proposed works at Hall is as follows:

  • River Water Abstraction via Inlet Pumping Station
  • Raw Water Reservoir Storage
  • GAC Roughing Filters
  • UF Membrane
  • UV Peroxide
  • GAC Absorber Filters
  • UV Disinfection
  • Distribution via storage reservoir

Franklyn Yates Engineering was responsible for delivering the following: 

Raw Water Intake Screens and Cleaning Equipment

Detailed design, fabrication, supply and installation and testing of the following:

  • DN 100 air blast pipework
  • All associated fixtures, fittings and supports

 Installation of free-issued:

  • Hydroburst Duty/Standby compressor package & acoustic enclosure
  • Hydroburst Air receiver
  • Butterfly air blast isolation valves

 Inlet Pumping Station

            Detailed design, fabrication, supply, installation and testing of the following pipework:

  • DN 500 delivery pipework from 3No. submersible pumps
  • DN 800 pump discharge common manifold
  • DN 250 flow bypass arrangement pipework
  • Bypass orifice plate
  • All associated fixtures, fittings and supports

Installation of free-issued:

  • 3 no. submersible canisters & associated pump sets installed in common wet well including the associated Pump housing pipework
  • 500mm Gate Valves
  • 500mm Non-return valves
  • 250mm Bypass Gate Valve
  • DN 250 Bypass Flow Control Butterfly Valve
  • Air release valves,
  • Sets of pressure instrumentation & associated small bore isolating ball valves

  Raw Water Reservoir Screen

            Detailed design, fabrication, supply and installation and testing of the following pipework:

  • DN 80 Air blast pipework from Raw Water Reservoir screen to local connection
  • DN 80 Air blast pipework to Air Blast Package
  • All associated fixtures, fittings and supports

Installation of free-issued:

  • Passive inlet screen
  • Hydroburst compressor package in acoustic enclosure
  • Hydroburst Air receiver
